Gerunds (V-ing)
Gerunds là một dạng ngữ pháp quan trọng mà người học cần phải hiểu và có thể sử dụng hiệu quả trong bài thi IELTS và trong tiếng Anh nói chung. Gerunds là danh từ và được tạo thành bằng cách thêm -ing vào động từ. Hãy cùng xem đoạn văn sau đây để xem Gerunds được thể hiện như thế nào trong tiếng anh nhé.
– Learning vocabulary is very significant for the IELTS test takers. It is also crucial not to neglect the other skills of Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening, but you’ll do better on all the other aspects of the test if you have good grammar. Unfortunately, many students dislike spending the time that is needed to learn and remember all of the grammar knowledge, but not using grammar accurately in IELTS could be a big mistake and it can lower your IELTS band score.

Một số động từ đứng trước Gerund.
Nếu bạn muốn để 2 động từ cạnh nhau thì động từ thứ 2 phải là V-ing hoặc To-V Ví dụ, bạn không thể nói “Boys often like study Maths more than girls.”, thay vào đó bạn phải sử dụng một Gerund sau động từ “like”: “Boys often like studying Maths more than girls.” Không có lý do ngữ pháp nào cho điều này, vì vậy bạn chỉ cần học các động từ và thực hành viết một số câu với những động từ đó.
Sau đây là danh sách một số các động từ mà bạn thường gặp mà theo sau nó là một Gerund (V-ing).
